Chase new homes
To proactively consider matters relating to the proposed development at Bircherly green with the aim of working together to achieve high-quality development and meet the councils’ placemaking, corporate and community aspirations and objectives for Hertford.
At the beginning of the meeting, we were asked to agree to confidentially about in-depth details of discussions and unfortunately, we must abide by this as we (Hertford Hub) as a town and voice at such meetings, we don’t want to lose our seat. However, what I can say that during the meeting I found Chase new homes more than approachable, and with there new proposed plans they not only want residential but retail on various scales. They see Hertford for the county town it is and what it was and want to keep its values and traditions with it. As we know that Chase new homes bought the site with already approved planning, however, they will be implementing new planning application at the beginning of December and once passed plan on getting on with the build with immediate effect. If people are wondering what kind of builds Chase Homes have done in the past well, unfortunately, it really is just residential which we as a town and the councils won’t allow this development to take place without retail and other facilities that our town requires.
Their previous developments are on their website. https://www.chasenewhomes.co.uk/developments/
As soon as we have permission to give a full statement to what is happening as I know this is very vague you as our members and in fact, Hartford will be notified asap.
We are determined to have a voice for the traders and community on this matter and to help make Hertford prosper for us all. We can’t thank you enough already for the growing support. We will be beholding various meetings and social events to discuss all town matters not just Bircherly Green to also take our motions to the council and get actions.
On a different note, our friends from the Hertford Civic Society are supporting the ‘We Are Hertford’ campaign and invite all to their meeting on Tuesday evening 22nd October at RC church hall, 23 St Johns Street, Hertford at 7:30 pm
